At the back, you can expect a 21MP camera and up front, an 8MP shooter.According to earlier reports, we can expect the release of the phone to be around January-February period next year.
Xiaomi Mi 5 may feature a physical home button with fingerprint sensor
Xiaomi to launch the Mi 5 early next year, and it looks like the phone will be the first from the Chinese vendor to feature a physical home button, which will house a fingerprint sensor.
It was initially rumored that the Mi 5 would come with Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which can be directly embedded in the display. However, it looks like that may not be the case, as the vendor is allegedly wary of stability issues with the scanner. That would explain the presence of the physical home button.
Xiaomi Mi 5 specs leaked in online listing
According to the Oppomart page, Xiaomi Mi 5 will have a 5.5-inch screen with 2K (1440x2560p) resolution and will run on the recently-launched 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. Said to be available in 16, 64 and 128GB storage options, the smartphone will have 4GB of RAM.
Xiaomi will reportedly use Android 5.1-based MIUI 6 in Mi 5. The smartphone will also have a 20MP rear camera and 8MP front snapper. The 4G-capable top-end handset will feature a 3,800mAh battery and come in black and white colour options.
