HUAWEI has been conferred upon the prestigious Aegis Graham Bell Award, 2015 for best innovations in Telecom Infrastructure. The award has been give for its LampSite Solution which is an innovative in-building solution that unveils new market opportunities not only by improving coverage & capacity, but also enabling operators to offer a variety of digital services and participate in an open multi-win business model.

The award was presented to Huawei by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Prime Minister Office at the Aegis Graham Bell award ceremony held on the 27th of November at the NDMC Convention Center, Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.

"We are really happy to receive this award in this category as it re-enforces our market leadership in the MBB space and as well our commitment to towards “Building a Better connected India.” We feel it is also a great recognition towards the efforts & Investments Huawei has been doing in Innovations and Research & development. Recent Surveys show that the data services are growing at greater than 110% CAGR.  Trends show demand for indoor capacity continues to increase and operators are investing heavily to meet the increased customer experience with connectivity for user anytime, anywhere at Indoor locations also. LampSite completely transforms the way operators can address indoor coverage and capacity challenges in today’s increasingly always connected society.

Global Statistics show that greater than 70% of voice traffic & 90% of data Traffic orginates at indoor locations. LampSite represents the next generation of digitized in-building solutions. This new technology extends the existing macro network indoors maximizing customer experience whilst minimizing cost. Lampsite allows operators to exploit high degrees of co-ordination and functionality through macro cell baseband reuse – such as seamless handover, spectrum aggregation, centralized radio resource management and co-ordination, as well as operations management and service performance management.

LampSite is highly scalable due to its support of GSM/UMTS/LTE and Wi-Fi technologies within the same modular design without any changes required on the actual units installed on the building floors. The BBU can be shared across indoor and outdoor especially when the macro site is collocated with the LampSite in the same building; hence the capacity can be shared.
