Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in India soon

Motorola rolled out Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for the Moto X Style in India back in November last year. The Moto X Play got the update earlier this month, Moto G (3rd gen) got it soon after. Yesterday the latest Moto G Turbo Edition smartphone got the Marshmallow update in India. Now the Android 6.0 update release notes for the Moto G (2nd Gen) has gone live on the Motorola India support site , so we can expect it to roll out soon.

The Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) got the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update back in January last year in India. It got patches for Stagefright exploit back in September last year,Motorola confirmed Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for a range of smartphones back in October last year. It recently added the Moto E (2nd Gen) 4G to list and said that it will get the Marshmallow update in some regions such as Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia, excluding China.

Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) and Moto G (2nd Gen) 4G Android 6.0 soak test begins in India and Brazil

David Schuster announced that we are starting the soak test for Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade for the 2014 Moto G (2nd Gen) and 2014 Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd Gen) for Brazil and India retail channels devices. W

David Schuster also said that Motorola will monitor the soak test for next week, if it doesn’t have any bugs, the roll out will begin for everyone.
