Hike Messenger launches Stories, Camera and Live Filters

Hike today launced Stories, Camera and Live Filters on Hike in India.Hike has always been about giving the youth a place where they can express themselves freely, a place to be themselves and today we’re excited to announce Stories on Hike, a new way to share your day with your friends.

With Stories on Hike, you can now share what’s happening in your day through photos. When you add a photo to your Story, it lives for 48 hours before, and then poof, it vanishes, making room for the next latest fun in your life. There’s something quite nice about 48 hours. It’s the length of the weekend. Most social apps including Hike peak on the weekend and we thought it would be nice to be able to share Stories throughout the weekend and open your phone on a Sunday night and see how much fun you had over the last few days.

For each Story posted, you can see who and how many people viewed it. We think that really liberates sharing and at the same time, builds loads of curiosity. Stories always play chronologically, that means when you open your or your friend’s Stories, they always play morning to night so you can see how your friends day went. Also, for the first time on hike, we’re bringing ephemeral sharing to our users. We’re super excited that we’re releasing Stories both on Android and iOS today, so that everyone can fun with it! But wait…it doesn’t stop there.

All New Hike Camera

all new Hike Camera. The only way to make Stories work for our users was to make the photo experience a lot simpler; so we removed all the obstacles in posting a photo and built a Camera right into Hike. It’s fast, it’s easy and sharing photos on Hike has never been this easy. It’s literally just 2 taps. You can add Text, Emojis and even Stickers to your photos. We’re starting off with just a set of 48, but expect us to expand this to the entire Hike sticker universe soon.

Live Filters

Live Filters on Hike’s Camera over 15 filters to start with across what we call Live Filters and Live Masks. Our favourite is the ‘Turban and Moustache’ and what we’re calling ’The Modi’. They are incredible amount of fun. Playing with them is the best way to feel fun inside of Hike
