Ringing Bells to launch Freedom 251 smartphone under Rs 500 tomorrow

Ringing Bells is all set to launch the cheapest smartphone in India which is priced under Rs 500. Dubbed as Freedom 251, the company will release the phone in the country tomorrow, February 17.

The phone will be launched by Union defense minister Manohar Parrikar. Based in Noida, Ringing Bells was founded in 2015 and it recently launched one of India’s cheapest 4G smartphone Bell 101 at Rs 2,999. It even released two feature phones in the country called as Bell Master and Bell 4U which are priced at Rs 999 and Rs 799 respectively.

The company said that ‘Freedom 251’ launch is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for “empowering India to the last person, transforming India’s growth story”. Initially, Ringing Bells will start with the assembly of handsets in Phase-I and aims at full indigenous development of the feature-rich smartphones. No other details about manufacturing, products and pricing are known as of now.

In line with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for empowering India to the last person transforming India’s growth story, Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd., with immense support from Make In India, Digital India and Skill India programs is well poised to launch the most affordable smartphone ever.

The phone will be popularly priced at under INR 500. The final price announcement and the launch would be done by Shri Manohar Parrikkar, Hon’ble Union minister, Ministry of Defense, Govt. of India in the presence of Shri Murali Manohar Joshi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament.
This event and launch stands as a true testimony of success of the latest initiatives taken by the Govt. of India.

Smart 101 feature  a 5-inch qHD (540x960 Pixels) IPS display running on a MediaTek 1.3GHz Quad-core processor with 1GB RAM, 8GB expandable storage. There's an 8MP rear and 3.2MP front-facing camera.4G LTE capable dual-SIM smartphone with one regular and one micro-SIM card slot. Bell has been quite generous with the battery on the Smart 101 as well, you are getting a 2800 mAh unit inside.Device runs on Android 5.1
