Ambani also revealed that the Jio family boasts over 50 lakh members, and going forward the aim is to reach 100 million customers in the shortest possible time. This would translate to about data usage of 250 crore GB a month. It may look like a difficult aim, but going by the response, it doesn’t seem impossible. The extension of Jio’s preview offer to other smartphone companies saw huge queues outside Reliance Digital stores, which is not surprising when you look at the tariffs. The company plans to improve on that situation by using e-KYC documents. This initiative will start off in Delhi and Mumbai, and Aadhaar card users will have their connections activated in just 15 minutes.
