Xiaomi in partnership with Google launched Mi A1 Android One Smartphone Priced at Rs 14,999. Mi A1 offers 12MP Dual Rear camera and as a Part of Android One Program runs on Stock Android. Is Mi A1 worth the price? Let's find in our Full Review.

In terms on Design, Mi A1 is same as Mi 5X which was launched in China.Mi A1 looks similar to iPhone 7 Plus.On the front, there is 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Display with 2.5D Glass on the top,5MP front facing camera, earpiece, sensors notification LED, below the Display, there are three touch capacitive buttons which are backlit.On the right, there is a power button and volume buttons on the left it has a SIM card slot which is hybrid. antenna bands on top and bottom.USB type C connector, 3.5mm audio jack and Speaker grill on the bottom and IR Blaster, Microphone present on the top.Coming to Rear it has a Dual 12MP rear camera Below that it has a Fingerprint Scanner, Mi and  Android One branding is present at the bottom.Antenna Bands on top and bottom.Mi A1 measures 155.4×75.8×7.3mm and Weight: 165g.Overall build quality of the phone is good.

Xiaomi Mi A1 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage out of which around 49GB available for the user, which is further expandable up to 128GB with MicroSD card.It has an  Adreno 506 GPU for graphics. In terms of performance, there is no issue we tried playing some games there was no issue while playing games while playing games for long time phone gets heat up not much that you cant use it. On Antutu Benchmark Phone scores 63965 Points, On Geekbench 4 Phone scores 869 points on a Single core and 4174 points on multicore.

Mi A1 runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box which is stock Android, There are some Xiaomi Apps preloaded.Mi A1 will be getting Android Oreo Update by end of 2017 and Android P when launched.  Nougat features on the device include split-screen multitasking that allows users to work on two apps simultaneously, double-tapping the Overview button and app shortcuts which let you launch actions within supported apps by long-pressing their icons on the home screen. Swipe downwards on the fingerprint sensor to pull down the notifications shade, and launch the camera app by double-pressing the power button. there was no lag or slow down while using the device it was fast.

Xiaomi Mi A1 has a 12MP rear camera with wide-angle lens, 1.25μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture, dual-tone LED flash + 12MP camera with telephoto lens, 1.0 μm pixel size, f/2.6 aperture, PDAF and 5MP front-facing camera. The rear camera can Record 4K Video, Timelapse, Slow Motion Videos. Front camera 1080P Videos. Camera App includes 2X Optical Zoom, Portrait mode.Overall camera performance in Daylight is Good 2X Zoom, portrait Mode works in Daylight conditions struggles in low light and indoor lighting conditions. The low light camera needs improvement. The front camera also produces decent images Slow motion, Timelapse, Video recording is good.

Connectivity Options on Mi A1 includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C. Mi A1 has Hybrid SIM support which means you can use one SIM or MicroSD card or Dual SIM.Mi A1 comes with a dedicated amplifier with advanced Dirac HD Sound. Audio output via 3.5mm audio jack and the speaker is loud and clear also volume during a call is loud. Mi A1 supports VoLTE and works with Reliance Jio.One SIM supports 4G while other is 3G there was no  Network or any call drop issue. Mi A1 comes with IR Blaster which lets you control TV and more electronics items. doesn’t have support for FM Radio.There is also support for OTG.


Mi A1 comes with Fingerprint Scanner on the rear which is fast and responsive. as it runs on Stock Android os it does not come with App lock feature. But you can use third-party App to lock or unlock Apps.Swipe down on fingerprint Scanner to get Notification panel.



Mi A1 is Packed with a 3080mAh battery which does not support fast charging and takes around 2 hours to charge from 0-100. Mi A1 is able to deliver 13-15 hours of battery life on Dual SIM, Using data, wifi, Playing games, Listening to music and more.On Normal use, it can last up to 1 day on a Single Charge.

Mi A1 Tips Tricks

Mi A1 is Priced at Rs 14,999 which offers Good Performance, Decent Images in daylight also Portrait mode, Stock Android experience, IR Blaster lacks Fast charging, Dedicated MicroSD slot. Camera App needs improvement.Xiaomi Mi A1 comes in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colors available via Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Home stores and other offline retailers.
