Asus Zenfone Max pro has a Metal body with Antenna cutout made up of plastic. The phone measures 159 x 76x  8.46 mm and weight 180 g. It is much lighter then Redmi Note 5 Pro which comes with 4000mAh battery compared to 5000mAh battery on Zenfone Max Pro.

On the front, It has a 5.99-inch Display, Front facing camera, earpiece, Notification LED sensor below the display on Screen button. on the right volume and power button on the bottom, there is Micro USB port, 3,5mm audio jack, and Speaker grill, SIM slot present on the left which has support for Dual Nano + Dedicated MicroSD slot. The microphone on top.  Dual Rear Camera Setup with LED Flash, Fingerprint Scanner, and Asus branding on the Rear, Curved edges on the back panel gives good grip in hand can be used in single hand. The overall build quality of the phone is a good back panel attracts fingerprints which can be cleaned easily. It has a 5.99-inch (2160×1080 pixels) Full HD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display with 1500:1 contrast ratio, 85% NTSC color gamut, 450 nits brightness, It produces good colors and viewing angle both in indoor as well outdoor conditions, Auto brightness sensors works fine. Zenfone Max Pro does not come with Gorilla Glass protection it’s better to use a Screen protector as Display might attracts scratches while kept in the pocket.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is powered by 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 509 GPU. On AnTuTu Benchmark Phone scores 113704 points, On Geekbench 4 1333 points on Single Core and 4851 Points on Multi-Core. It has a 3GB RAM with 32GB storage out of which 23GB is available for the user, 4GB /6GB RAM with 64GB storage, expandable with microSD. The overall performance of devices is good there was no lag or heating issue while using or playing games, While playing games or watching videos for long time phone gets warm but it is usable.

On Camera, it has a 13MP  rear camera with LED Flash, PDAF, 1.12μm pixel size, secondary 5MP camera and 8MP front-facing camera with soft LED flash both cameras has support for portrait mode. It comes with Snapdragon Camera App. It comes with Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Flowers, Backlight, Candlelight, Sunset, Night, Beach, and Snow mode, dual-camera portrait mode, Beautify and different scene modes. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 daylight and Indoor images good produces good colors also macro shots Dual camera portrait mode needs improvement works well under good lighting. Low-light shots are average not that good. It can record videos up to 4K UHD resolution at 30 fps. It doesn’t have EIS. slow-motion and Time Lapse mode. Asus has used snapdragon Camera App instead of their own ZenUI.

 It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based on ZenUI which is like Stock Android. It does not come with much pre-loaded Apps like ZenUI. It has Go2Pay, FM Radio, Google Duo and More. There is support for gestures, Zenmotion and More. The user interface is fast and smooth. Asus has promised Android P and Android Q Updates for Zenfone Max Pro M1 Smartphone.



Sensors on Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 include Accelerometer Sensor, E-Compass, Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Rear Fingerprint Sensor, Gyroscope. Connectivity options 3.5mm audio jack, 5-magnet speaker, NXP Smart Amp, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n , Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS.There is also support for Dual 4G VoLTE Voice Call quality is loud and clear.

Face unlock on Zenfone Max Pro M1 works fast, Fingerprint Scanner needs an update which takes few seconds to unlock. You can add up to 5 Fingerprints. There is no support for App lock you can use third-party App. It has a bottom firing 5-magnet loudspeaker with 2nd-gen NXP Smart amplifier to offer rich audio experience. Asus is also bundling the passive amplifier accessory called “Max Box” with the device. The user can place the ZenFone Max Pro M1 on this Max Box to double the audio volume. The audio output from speaker and Max Box is loud and Clear.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is packed with a 5000mAh battery which comes with 5V 2A Charger and does not support any quick or fast charge. It takes almost 2 Hour 35 Min to charge device fully. Charges up to 90% in close to 2 Hour. Max Pro M1 is able to deliver close to 1 and a half day of battery life with Dual SIM, Playing games, using data, calls, listening music with the screen on time of 8-9 Hours. If not a heavy user with Single SIM WiFi+ Data it can easily last for more then 2 Days in Single Charge.


Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes in  Black and Silver color options.priced at Rs 10,999 for 3GB RAM and Rs 12,999 for 4GB RAM. Should you Buy Zenfone Max Pro? Yes, It offers Good Display, Good Performance Battery Life, Stock Android Experience, Dual 4G VoLTE, Dedicated MicroSD card slot, Decent Rear Camera, Camera App needs improvement, Front Camera is average, lacks fast charging, Gorilla Glass protection.
