Asus has launched the Asus Zenfone 5Z Flagship smartphone in India at a starting price of Rs 29,999 which takes on OnePlus 6 and Honor 10. Here’s our review of Asus Zenfone 5Z 6GB RAM variant.

Asus Zenfone 5Z comes with Glass body, Designed similar to iPhone X with Notch Display and Vertical Dual Rear Camera. On the front it has a 6.2-inch Full HD+ Display with a 19:9 Aspect ratio, Notch display, front-facing camera and earpiece it comes with On Screen buttons and Chin on the bottom. the volume rocker and power button on the right, SIM Slot on the left which is hybrid SIM this is one of advantage over OnePlus 6 and Honor 10. On the bottom, there is speaker grill, USB Type C connector, 3.5mm audio jack. Back is made up of glass there is Dual Rear camera, fingerprint scanner, and Asus branding.even with 6.2-inch display the phone looks compact and can be used in Single hand. talking about Display It comes with IPS Display which produces good color and viewing angles both in indoor as well in bright sunlight auto brightness sensor works fine

Asus Zenfone 5Z is powered by  Snapdragon 845 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage on AnTuTu Benchmark Zenfone 5Z Scores 262868 points. In terms of performance, there was no issue it was fast and there was no lag or heating issue but While playing PUBG game with high setting HDR Support for more than 1 Hour phone heats up that’s normal considering Glass body Overall performance is Fast.

On Camera, Asus Zenfone 5Z comes with 12MP  Sony IMX363 sensor with 1.4μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, 0.03s Tri-Tech auto-focus, Dual Pixel PDAF, 4-axis OIS and EIS 8MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture which is 120-degree wide-angle lens. It can record Videos up to 4K 60 fps. the front camera has support for inbuilt flash. The camera App comes with depth mode, GIF mode, time lapse, Slow motion, Daylight and low light images from the rear camera are good depth mode needs improvement front camera produces good images in daylight low light is average. Asus Zenfone 5Z runs on ZenUI 5.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Asus has been focusing on AI features with ZenUI 5.0 which includes AI Charging, AI Ringtone, Suggest Apps, Optiflex. There is also support for Twin Apps (Dual Apps) which let you use two Apps.GameGenie lets you record or live stream your mobile gameplay sessions to YouTube, ZeniMoji, ZenMotion like Touch Gesture, Motion Gesture, Gesture on Dark Screen, App lock and Hide App and More. There is also support for gesture-based navigation system where you can navigate to the home screen by simply swiping up from the center of the bottom of the screen sends you to the home screen. Swiping up from either side, from the bottom edge of the screen will either sent you to the multi-tasking view or to the previous settings based on your settings. The user interface is fast and does not come with much-preloaded apps like earlier. Asus is expected to roll out android Pie for Zenfone 5Z by end of 2018

Connectivity Options on Zenfone 5Z include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS , USB Type-C.  It comes with stereo speakers Audio output is loud and clear there is also an outdoor mode which makes volume even louder. Reliance Jio VolTE works fine.  It is packed with a 3300 mAh battery with fast charging which takes around 90% to charge device full it is able to deliver 12-14 Hours of battery life with close to 6 Hour of Screen on Time with Dual SIM usage data, playing games watching videos, If you are sort of average user it can last close to one day while playing games for longer time we notice battery drain faster. Fingerprint Scanner and Face Unlock work fast and responsive.




Asus Zenfone 5Z takes on Honor 10 and OnePlus 5. Zenfone 5Z offers Great Build Quality, Good camera’s, Flagship processor and Good Battery life which is cheaper than OnePlus 6.
